Jenna-Louise Coleman has been a British actor for a long time. She is best known as Clara Oswald, the character she played in Doctor Who. As a child she started acting in Yer Space theatre, and was part of Crystal Clear, a play at the Edinburgh Festival. Coleman's performance was praised and she received an award. Coleman's breakout moment came in the role of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale. The show continued until 2009, at which point it was cancelled. Jasmine Thomas was her character in the National Television Awards 2006. The show received her a nomination for Most Popular Freshman at that award ceremony. Coleman began her career in the film industry in 2011 when she played Connie, in Captain America: The First Avenger.
